June 15 – 30, 2019 From Vancouver to Denali

Our Alaska trip was started at Vancouver. After spending a few days in the British Columbia, we took Viking Orion to Alaska, followed by our road trip.

June 15, 2019 Saturday — Vancouver

We went to the Cruise Ship Terminal at noon and followed the aboard procedures. Three cruises (one was Princess and the other was Holland America) were departing from Vancouver on that day. Lots of people were lining up in the immigration. The check-in procedure was smooth and efficient as there were only 930 passengers for the Viking cruise.

Usually a photo booth was set up when we were aboard. Luckily Viking wasn’t one of them as I was not a fan of photo booth. The moment we stepped onto the cruise ship, our champagne and orange juice were being served. We headed directly to the World Cafe at Deck 7 for lunch, dining with the beautiful scenery of Vancouver port. Our luggage was being sent to our room while we were enjoying lunch. In the evening, we enjoyed our dinner at Manfredi’s Italian Restaurant at Deck 1.

Let’s take a look at the cruise ship.

Deck 1

Atrium of Orion is where people gathered, listened to music, played games and read books, etc.
